We’ll be taking a close look at the RPIE process through several award-winning case studies. We’ll get to hear from local professionals who assembled and carried out PR plans which were shining examples of the success that comes from carefully following the Research, Planning, Implementation and Evaluation process. There will be lots of valuable takeaways that you can file away and use on your next project - or when preparing your upcoming Silver Link Award entry.

Lisa Johannsson will share the story of her award-winnning experience rebranding "An Affair of the Heart of Tulsa" in 2012.

"An Affair of the Heart of Tulsa" is the city’s largest and longest running arts and crafts show. The purpose of the rebrand was to attract a younger demographic and update the show’s image. Over the course of the next few years, attendance had increased by nearly 40% by the end of 2015's event. Johannsson has since planned, promoted and managed a new show in central Arkansas with the launch of "An Affair of the Heart Conway and Missouri" with "An Affair of the Heart Springfield" in 2017.

She also developed the branding for Broken Arrow's Rose District resulting in a 33% increase of sales tax revenue collected by the city and an announcement of at least 10 new businesses.

Johannsson is one of the co-founders of Kazoo Marketing and Communications and has helped clients achieve their business goals through strategic public relations and marketing efforts for over 14 years. She combines creative marketing strategies with proven market research and analysis skills to provide clients with successful campaigns and real results.

Kelly Johnson will talk about her award-winning work on the 2016 campaign, "Gilcrease Museum: Vision Tulsa," during her time at Schnake Turnbo Frank.

The overall objective of the public relations campaign was to increase the support and visibility of Gilcrease Museum on the Vision Tulsa ballot. Kelly will discuss some of the data-driven outcomes and focus on the implementation and evaluation of the campaign.

Kelly lives in Ruidoso, New Mexico, and works as a marketing and communications consultant. She currently serves as the Director of Client Services for The Agency, a marketing and communication agency in Ruidoso and is the Director of Digital Marketing for the Village of Ruidoso. She has been helping clients achieve their strategic marketing and communication goals for 12+ years.
