Did you know the PRSA Code of Ethics requires us to investigate the truthfulness and accuracy of the information we represent? It's our duty as PR professionals to be aware of and learn to confront ethical issues with our organizations.

In our August meeting, Cynthia Cooper, CEO of The Cooper Group and Worldcom whistleblower, will share her personal experiences at WorldCom as well as critical ethics and governance lessons from some of the largest corporate scandals including: who commits fraud and why, what went wrong in the rise and fall of WorldCom, common threads and root causes of recent corporate scandals, and the power of choice.

Cooper is an internationally recognized speaker, bestselling author, and consultant. She and her team unraveled the fraud at WorldCom, which is one of the largest corporate frauds in history. She was named one of Time Magazine’s People of the Year and one of 25 influential working mothers in Working Mother magazine. She has also been featured in national media including: The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, CFO Magazine, Business Week, The Today Show, and ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos.
